Welcome! May this blog encourage and strengthen you in your high calling as Christian wives and mothers.
I hope it goes well. Let us know all about it!
Sounds like fun. Congratulations on being "old hands" at it. :)
Well... we had our Q & A session at 10:30AM today and I think it went fairly well. There were four couples attending the class... (3) first time parents and (1) couple that had a previous hospital birth/expecting #2. We discussed all sorts of topics: how homebirths differ from hospital births, what to expect at a homebirth, the husband's involvement at homebirths, how to get a birth certificate and a social security number, how to deal with family/friends that don't understand/agree with homebirth, what role does our midwife play during labor/delivery/postpartum, etc. It was a bit awkward at first, but once the conversational ball got rolling things went much smoother. All in all, I hope it was an encouraging and thought-provoking experience for the couples, one that solidified their decision to homebirth and possibly alleviated any fears/apprehensions they may have had. RD and I were honored to have the privilege to speak. It's a subject that is very near and dear to our hearts.
