I'm back!

Hope you all have had a safe and wonderful Holiday Season. One that has held your focus upon Christ: the many blessing He has so freely given, the spiritual transformation He has done in your life this past year, and the miracle of His birth and life here on earth.

As we enter into this new year, it with great excitement that I approach this blog again. As mentioned before, I was wanting to take off the month of December so that I could bath the future of this blog in prayer. It has been SO HARD not to blog (I even slipped up a couple of times), but it has been a wonderful month of basking in God's presence and seeking His direction.

In no way do I feel as though God is wanting me to shut down this blog. Rather, I sense God wanting to further and more pointedly use this blog as a sounding board of His truth concerning Biblical womanhood.
Back in November 2005, I started a family blog. It was public for some time. But since there was so much personal information and pictures being shared, RD and I felt that we should make it private/viewable only by invitation. The reason I started this "Growth" blog was because I found myself writing entries that were completely unrelated to family events, mostly about how I was personally growing in my roles as wife and mom. A dramatic shift had very quickly come about in my life: degree/career driven woman to stay-at-home wife and mom. I thought that as I grew in my new roles perhaps my experiences would be an encouragement and motivator for other women out there in the blog sphere.

So, in March '06, this blog began. Here is my very first entry:
Ok, so we already have the family blog, why start up another one? Well, I've found that many of the postings that I'd like to put up gravitate toward things of the home, which the general public may not be interested in reading. Friends and family may just want to hear the latest on what's occurring with our immediate family. They may not want to hear about recipes, cooking, home-keeping, finances, and things of such feminine nature. Since I've been married and have been bearing/nurturing children, I have learned SO much about what it is to be a Christian woman. And every day I learn a little bit more. This blog is for you women out there that want to hear about one woman's journey through wife-hood and motherhood and it's also a place where you can share your own recipes and tricks-of-the-trade. I would LOVE to hear about how you other women are growing in your faith and are maturing as wives and mothers.

Everything started out correctly... but over time I found myself slowly growing frustrated with this blog and would oftentimes lose interest in it all together. It finally hit me this past November just why this was happening: I had allowed the line between my two blogs to become very much blurred. Far too much family/personal information was being shared here on this "Growth" blog. Oftentimes, I would neglect my family blog or would post duplicate entries on both blogs!

So... I'm returning to the beginning. All family and personal information will exclusively be posted on my private family blog. If you would like an invitation, please e-mail me at: growthasawifeandmom(at)yahoo(dot)com. This "Growth" blog will once again return to being a place where I transparently share my experiences of growth as I mature into being a Biblical wife and mom... in hopes that what I share here may be an encouragement for you my readers... as you grow in your roles and wives and mothers.
