Homemade Szechwan Sauce

Usually, we purchase this brand from the store for our stir-fry's:
But the opened bottle I found in the fridge today smelled funny... and expired in '07!!! Ewwwwww! Needless to say I threw it out.

Found an incredible recipe at it is SO good! Not exactly like Kame's, but pretty close! And not nearly as hot! The kids could actually eat this. They loved it, in fact!

Szechwan Sauce
Serves: 6
8 Tbl water
4 Tbl ketchup
2 Tbl soy sauce (or teriyaki)
4 tsp cornstarch
2 tsp honey
1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 tsp ground ginger
salt to taste
Combine ingredients. Set aside until meat and veggies are prepared. Add to stir fry; stir until thickened. (Would be stellar if left to set in fridge overnight, or at least a couple hours.)

Serve over brown rice. YUM!
